Rava VPN: a VPN that works in China
Rava is a VPN for people who need Google, WhatsApp, Gmail and the rest of their usual apps while they are in mainland China — travelers, students, and people who live or work there. Try it free for 3 days on your own devices before you pay anything.
What is Rava VPN?
Rava VPN is a VPN service aimed at users in mainland China. It has 100+ servers including China-optimised routes, apps for iPhone, Android, Windows and Mac, unlimited data, and up to 4 devices on one account. There is a 3-day free trial, plans start from $2.8, and you can get a refund within 7 days if it does not suit you.
How to start
- Open the official trial page and create an account.
- Install the app on the phone and laptop you actually use.
- Test it on Wi‑Fi and mobile data during the 3-day trial.

Why a China VPN is different
Working once is easy. Working every evening is the test.
Most VPNs connect fine from China at some point. What separates them is whether they keep working on hotel Wi‑Fi, on a Chinese SIM, after your phone wakes from sleep, and during the busy evening hours when networks are most congested.
That is why Rava starts with a free trial instead of a promise. Three days is enough to try your own phone and laptop on the networks you really use, and to open the apps that matter to you.
If you only remember one line, make it this
Judge a China VPN on your own devices, on your own networks, in the evening. The trial exists so you can do exactly that.
Who uses Rava
What matters depends on why you are in China
Traveling to China
Install and test before you fly. Download pages and app stores can be hard to reach once you land, so set everything up at home.
Living or studying in China
For daily use, what matters is stable evenings, quick reconnection when you switch networks, and one account covering your phone and laptop.
Keeping your usual apps
WhatsApp, Google, Gmail, Instagram and many other services are blocked on Chinese networks. Our guides cover what breaks and what still works.
On iPhone
VPN apps are not listed in the mainland China App Store. The Rava iPhone app is downloaded from the App Store with a non-mainland Apple ID.
FAQ
Common questions
Does Rava VPN work in China?
Rava is built for use from mainland China, with China-optimised routes. Connections in China can vary by network and time of day, so the best way to know is the 3-day free trial on your own devices.
How much does Rava VPN cost?
Plans start from $2.8. Every plan includes unlimited data and up to 4 devices on one account, and you can get a refund within 7 days if it is not for you.
Which devices are supported?
iPhone, Android, Windows and Mac. On iPhone, the app is downloaded from the App Store using a non-mainland Apple ID, because VPN apps are not available in the mainland China App Store.
Does Rava keep logs?
Rava is a no-logs VPN: it does not keep activity logs of the sites you visit.
